We will decrease the occurrence of opioid related overdoses in Central Arkansas by planning prevention, treatment, and advocacy initiatives tailored to the fit the populations most vulnerable to and most heavily impacted by opioid abuse and substance abuse.
We will bring targeted, evidence-based prevention and treatment strategies to the youth of Central Arkansas in afterschool program and in public schools.
We will encourage the youth to be agents of change and educate their peers and families about substance use disorder.
We will effectively reach the unsheltered and homeless populations with prevention and intervention efforts.
We will be advocates for bringing healthcare, basic necessities of daily living, and social services to homeless families and the unsheltered population.
We will effectively reach African Americans, Hispanics, women, and college freshman at HBCU's and state funded universities with prevention and intervention efforts in Central Arkansas.
We will start the conversation about opioid use and break the stigmas on substance abuse in the African American community.
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Association (SAMHSA) reports that 70% of foodservice employee's self-attest to having substance use disorder.
To address this, we will unite all foodservice, gaming, and lodging professionals to unite and start the discussion about substance use disorder in the Hospitality industry.
We will strategically educate the at large community about opioid abuse and substance abuse to prevent accidental overdoses
. We will remove financial barriers to receiving SUD treatment for those with inadequate health insurance, and expand treatment / recovery options in rural areas.
